SUGGESTED materials

1. Portable EASEL
A plein air easel or pochade box will work. Please nothing that takes up too much room

2. OIL BRUSHES
BELOW ARE BRUSH SUGGESTIONS, both à la carte and in brush sets. Or bring your own favorite brushes.

🌟I RECOMMEND MY FAVORITE BRUSH🌟:
-
Angled shader, size 3 (for detail and line work, inexpensive)

PROFESSIONAL BRUSHES À LA CARTE (pick & choose individual brushes)
-
Rosemary & Co Ivory Synthetic Hog Brushes (Stiff for thick paint application, texture. Leaving brush marks.)

-
Rosemary & Co Eclipse Synthetic Mongoose Brushes (Medium softness. Not as stiff as hog, but not as soft as sable, holds shape.)

-
Rosemary & Co Evergreen Brushes (Medium soft, springy brush, holds its shape, smooth stroke, good control for detail.)

PROFESSIONAL BRUSH SETS:
-
Rosemary & Co Casey Childs Basic Set (Combination of stiff and medium brushes: synthetic hog bristle, synthetic mongoose & evergreen.)

-
Rosemary & Co. Evergreen Set 175 Brushes (for lyrical strokes. These brushes are not too stiff, not too soft, but have a great spring.)

ECONOMICAL BRUSH SETS FOR BEGINNERS/INTERMEDIATE:
-
Creative Mark Synthetic Hog Brushes (for thick paint application, textured painting, & leaving brush marks.)

-
Princeton Synthetic White Taklon Set (Springy, smooth stroke.)

3. PALETTE KNIFE
4. PALETTE
I suggest transporting your palette to and from class, with some kind of cover, or in its own box/container or Tupperware. Disposable palette pads are also suitable.
5. PRIMED CANVAS or PANELS
Bring 2 - 3 pre-primed canvases or panels, in any of the following sizes: 9" x 12"; 11"x14"; 12"x16"; or 16x20."
6. OILS ON ROSE'S PALETTE
I suggest the BASIC COLORS for this class. I will be demoing FLESH TONES with colors that have an ASTERIX

If you want extra colors, I have suggested some RADIANTS and BRILLIANTS that are usually on my palette, which are the secret to the luminosity of my paintings, BUT THESE ARE OPTIONAL. You may have your own favorite colors which you are welcome to bring.
