The Morning Breaks, by Rose Datoc Dall, 21x42 Signed Ltd Edition Print
In this image, the morning is full of anticipation on that fateful day in the Spring of 1820, where young Joseph "went out into the woods where [his] father had a clearing, and went to the stump where [he] had stuck [his] axe" and where he would kneel down to inquire of the Lord which Church he should join. (First Vision Account, David Nye White Report, 1843.) This image depicts the moment before Joseph Smith receives the First Vision, where he sees God the Father and Jesus Christ, the great theophany which would would inaugurate the last and 7th dispensation in which the heavens are open.
