This image by Rose Datoc Dall is a portrait of Rachel, as she might have appeared when first beheld by Jacob, tending her father's sheep. See Genesis Chapter 29. Jacob had a great love for Rachel and waited seven years to earn her hand. Rachel would later become the mother of many of the tribes of Israel.
