Learn tips in capturing portrait likeness and accuracy in figurative painting. Learn to apply dynamic color while remaining loose and fluid. For ages high school through adult.
Time & Location
Jul 14, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM MDT
Rose Datoc Dall's Studio, 1180 S Eagle Nest Dr, Woodland Hills, UT 84653, USA

We will paint from a live model. Rose will demonstrate ways to improve your accuracy in likeness in portrait and figurative painting, and how to achieve beautiful flesh tones in different lighting situations; all the while, she will teach how to bypass many common technical problems, while remaining loose and fluid without over-working. She will also provide group and individual instruction throughout the workshop.
Students will need to bring: portable easel, palette, oil paints, 1 to 3 stretched canvas or panels (sizes 11x14 thru 16x20), brushes, paper towels, odorless mineral spirit jar (NO TURPENTINE), painting medium, an optional DSLR camera (to shoot reference photos of the model), etc. Refer to a more thorough suggested materials list on the website.
We will break for lunch (lunch not covered). Students may bring their own packed lunch or order in from Café Zupas or Mod Pizza.
