Widow of Zarephath, by Rose Datoc Dall 16x24 Signed Limited Edition Print

$288.00Price
  • The Widow of Zarephath portrays the story in 1 KINGS 17:10-24, in which Elijah is told by the Lord to go to Zarephath where a woman would give him sustinance. He finds a widow and asks her to feed him bread, but she says that she is only "gathering two sticks, that [she] may go in and dress it for [her] and [her] son, that [they] may eat it, and die." But Elijah promised her that "the barrel of meal shall not waste, neither the cruse of oil fail, until the day that the Lord sendeth rain upon the earth." Therefore she did as Elijah asked and they "did eat many days."
